Prof. Cantale will discuss existing financial concept and a new one he is developing in collaboration with Cisco to financially evaluate digital initiatives. We define Value at Stake as “The potential bottom-line value that can be created or that will shift among organizations and industries based on the ability to harness innovation and/or digital capabilities”. In this session, Prof. Cantale will present and suggest a capital budgeting tool that is consistent with companies’ investment process and that is not blind to volatility and disruption. About the speaker Salvatore Cantale is Professor of Finance at IMD. His major research and consulting interests are in value creation, valuation, and the way in which corporations structure liabilities and choose financing options. He has published in international double-refereed journals. One of his research papers, "Bank Capital Requirements and Managerial Self-Interests," was nominated for an Outstanding Paper Award at the Southern Finance Association.
